Our journey through the Deep South has led us hereāwhere Gulf breezes carry whispers of history, adventure, and serenity. The Florida Panhandle welcomed us with moss-draped oaks, sugar-white beaches, and plenty of soul. Letās dive into this leg of our road trip!

Louisiana to Florida: One Memory at a Time
After uncovering Louisianaās Cajun flair, Mississippiās Civil War echoes, and Alabamaās quiet quirks, we rolled into Florida with sandy dreams and RV tanks full of anticipation.

Tucked away in a coastal corner, Eden GardensĀ surprised us with its vintage charm:
š° The Wesley Houseāa lovingly restored 1897 mansion
šæ 163 acres of manicured grounds, shaded trails, and storybook oaks
šø Perfect photo ops around every corner
Tip:Ā Book the house tour earlyāslots are limited but we were told it was worth it.
š St. Andrewās State Park
A Comeback Story After the Storm šļø
Rebuilt after Hurricane Michael, St. Andrewās State ParkĀ is a resilient beautyĀ with:

š 1.5 miles of untouched, sugar-white beach
š Nature trails teeming with life
We snagged a waterfront Harvest Host spotĀ and greeted the sunrise barefoot on the beachācoffee in hand, hearts full. This moment? Pure magic.

What the Visitor Center Taught Us šš¾
Thanks to a helpful ranger chat, we learned:
š Gators mostly ignore dogs, but avoid water edgesĀ during warm months
š Snakes (venomous ones) pose a bigger concernāstay on trails
š§ Safety isnāt fearāitās awareness
Sadie got her walk, we got peace of mind, and everyone stayed dry (and alive).

Alligators, Herons & Kayaking Vibes š£āāļø
We explored two standout trails at St. Andrewās:
Gator Lake Trail: Peaceful, scenic, and yesāgator-friendly
Heron Pond Trail: Secluded with birdsong and natural beauty
Meanwhile, the Hubs took to the bayou with his kayak while I ran āsupport opsā (AKA shuttle duty and snack prep).
